This tournement takes place in Switzerland in Berne and Zurich from April 24th to May 10th, 2009 and comprises 56 games. 24 in the preliminary round, 18 in the qualifying round, six relegation round games, four quarter-finals, two semi-finals and eventually the bronze medal game (half-final) as well as the final game for the gold medal.

Extensive exposure of the Konica Minolta brand is once again guaranteed, as numerous games will be televised throughout Europe!

Konica Minolta also sponsors the relegation rounds of Division 1A and 1B. The teams of Slovenia, Kazakhstan, Japan, Lithuania, Croatia and Australia played the games in Division 1A in Vilnius, Lithuania.

The games of Division 1B are played in Torun, Poland by the teams of Italy, Ukraine, Poland, Great Britain, Netherlands and Romania.
