Forms overlay

A cost effective tool which allows you to merge your document with company letterhead, reducing the need for pre-printed stationery. Forms overlay can also save a lot of time when printing a mailshot, for example, the letter can be stored as a form directly on the printer.

The Overlay function operates differently in the PCL driver and the PostScript driver:

PCL driver:

1. Create the Overlay

1. Open the file to be used for the overlay, then select the "Create Overlay" check box in the printer driver.
2. Specify the page of the file that you want to use as the overlay, and then choose Print.
3. The Create Overlay File dialog box opens.
4. Specify the destination folder of the overlay file being created, and then enter a file name and overlay name.
5. Click the Save button.

1. Print the Overlay

1. Select the overlay to use from the Overlay list.
2. Specify the following settings if necessary.
3. Pages: Specify the pages on which to print
   the overlay.
4. Placement: Specify how the overlay should be
   placed on the printed pages.
5. Choose Print in your application.

PS driver:

1. "Download" the Overlay to the Printer
1. Click the "Download Manager" button in the printer driver.
2. In the Download Manager, specify the overlay to download and the desired destination printer, and then execute the download.
2. Print the Overlay
1. Click the "Browse Files" button to add the overlay you want to use to the Overlay list.
2. Select the overlay to use from the Overlay list.
3. Specify the following setting if necessary:
4. Pages: Specify the pages on which to print the overlay.
5. With the PostScript driver, the overlay is printed on top of the document image.
6. Choose Print in your application.
